Mom's of babies around 8 weeks old
What kind of schedule is your DC on? How often are they feeding and how much formula and/or breastmilk are they taking? How long are they sleeping at night?
DD is eating about 4.5 - 5 oz every 3 hours or so during the day, and is going about 5 hours at night. I just want to see if that is similiar to other babies her age....

My son is 13 weeks but was 10 weeks premature, and is on basically the same schedule. We just upped his formula to about 5 1/2 oz. every 3 hours and he is sleeping about 5 hours a night. Glad to hear that his schedule is similar to others

Re: Mom's of babies around 8 weeks old
ds is just about 6 weeks old and drinks anywhere from 4-6 ounces about every 3-4 hours during day and usually takes 6 unces around 10:30-11:00, sometimes goes until 3 , sometimes until 5....we are hoping he starts going longer consistently. He is bottle fed. Our typical day:
5:30-6:15 am- eats, goes back down
8:30 am -wakes up like clock work at this time for another bottle-sometimes stays up and we read or watch baby einstein videos or will go back to sleep
11:30- another bottle and then stays up, we play on the play may, tummmy time, go for a walk, toys, etc...
3:30 -bottle, down for nap
6:30 or 7:30- pm- another bottle and a bath, stays up with daddy, play s in swing ,bouncy, wtches tv in his arms
10:30- another bottle and down in swingto start and then crib
This is fairly typical

Oh good - it comforts me to know that her schedule is normal!
Btw - my daughter is 8 weeks, but was 4.5 weeks premature, so it's like our babies are essentially the same age -

Does your son feed at these same times every day? Even though my daughter eats every 3-4 hours during the day, it is at different times every day, b/c it all depends on how long she goes that particular night. I would love to get her on a more rigid day time schedule!

Re: Mom's of babies around 8 weeks old
My son is 10 weeks, and he is not the most regular little guy at least with feedings. He sleeps about 5 hours at night now (6 or 6.5 on occasion), so that's the longest stretch he goes without food. The amount he eats varies depending upon when he eats--it can be anywhere from 2.5 to 6 ounces. Usually, he will eat every 3 hours during the day, sometimes every 2 hours, and he'll have at least 4.5. People have suggested I feed him more all at once so he doesn't need so much so often (he's a bottle baby), but he has a mind of his own and will not eat more than he wants to eat.
He generally goes to bed at 10:30, but the last few nights he has been conking out around 9:30. I was hoping for this--now a little more time with DH in the evenings. He usually gets up around 8 and stays up until 12. I usually have to take him for a walk or a drive to get him to nap. Later in the afternoon, around 4 or 5, he might take another nap. We don't bathe him every day since his skin is dry, but I do wash his face and hands through the day.

Do you put him down at 10:30 every night? I'm trying to get into the habit of bottle then bed, but that means I put her to bed at different times every night right now b/c she doesn't eat at the same time every night. I'm dying for some consistency and structure!!! (And I could use a little more time with DH in the evenings as well!!!)

Re: Mom's of babies around 8 weeks old
I started trying to put him down around 9 recently and set up a bedtime routine (bath if it's that night, change PJs, sit in his room in the rocker where it's quiet, bottle). I don't know if it helped or not--the first few nights there was no difference. But the last 4 nights or so he has gone to bed at 9:30, which is great.
We had him in the living room with us, and I wondered if that was keeping him up, with the lights, tv going, DH and I talking, etc.
He has also been less colicky--I don't know if he was just overtired or if his new formula took effect, but he seems much happier overall.
His doctor said it is very hard to force a baby his age into a schedule, but it doesn't hurt to try and get him into a bedtime routine.
Good luck! You have a very cute baby btw!

He eats at basically these times , give or take an hour on some days I'd say but he is suprisingly consistent. We'd love to have hime sleep through tehe night but I know its too early for that.
