Moms of Bigger babies
When did your DC's growth slow down? When did they go from being in the higher percentiles to more average (if that happened?) DS has been in the 90/95 percentiles for weight and height first 2 months. At 3 months and 4 months he was over 100th percentile for both weight and height! Now at 6 months he is back down to 90/95th. Just trying to predict his growth for clothing sizes.

Re: Moms of Bigger babies
Well DD was in the upper 90th percentile until about 5 months - then she slowed down a lot - now she is about 30th-40th percentile for height and weight.
Now she is a little peanut.

15 months.
He was 90% in heigth and 75% in weight from his birth until he was 15 months.
He is now 75% in heigth and 70% in weight.
They went he started to look a bit *leaner* around 7-8 months.
He was not that big at birth. 7Lbs 13 oz.

Re: Moms of Bigger babies
DS was always off the charts. Then at like 1 year, he was in the 50th percentile. Now, at 2 he is back up at 90 for weight, 70 for height.
At about 6 or 7 months his growth slowed down a LOT! At 3 months he was 22 lbs and at 6 months he was 26 lbs. He was 29 lbs at a year and 31 at 2 years.

It took Julia a year to get to a average percentile for her weight, Todd Jr is over also by A LOT-lol Once they start crawling and walking and getting more exercise they even out. Todd Jr is in 12-18 month clothes!

Re: Moms of Bigger babies
I was told by the pedi that you can't predict, they all grow differently, different times, etc.
I've had a shorty (like 25th%) since he was born I'm hoping for a growth spurt for my boy

Re: Moms of Bigger babies
DS was in the 95+ percentiles until he was 2. Then he dropped down to like 75%. By age 3, I have no idea what percentiles because I never asked. He is taller than most kids his age, but that's not really a good gauge to go by.

Re: Moms of Bigger babies
DD was 9.7 at birth. At her year check-up she was 22.4 lbs. I feel like her weight slowed down a lot between 8 and 12 months. I thought she would weigh more by now!

Re: Moms of Bigger babies
DD was 9 lbs 3oz at birth and remained in the 90-95 percentile in height and weight until 1 year. As soon as she started walking her height stayed but she went down to 75th percentile in weight.

Kaila still isnt average.. she will be 3 next month and is in the 90th and 100th percentile for height and weight.
Although she wasnt a big newborn, she grew very quickly after the 3rd month or so. Hasnt stopped.. but DH and I are both tall me being 5'8" and him 6'2".

Re: Moms of Bigger babies
Luca has always been in the 80-90% and still is at 2. My advice (if this in terms of clothes) is to not buy more than 3 months in advance because there's really no way to know. I had to give away tons of great clothes I got on sale at the end of the summer because he was way too big for them the following summer.

Yeah, I learned that when I bought him some 12 month clothes thinking he would wear them in May when he is a year old. Boy was I wrong, they fit him NOW.
I guess there is no way to predict after all.

Re: Moms of Bigger babies
Usually once they start moving around and once they're firmly on solids and starting to decrease formula. DS was 90-99% for everything until the 9 month visit when he 'slowed down' to 80-85th %tile (except the head... that's still up there ).

I am every time you say what size Cailen is in.
Jack is over 30lbs and was 34 inches 2 months ago but still is in 24mnths-2T. Anything bigger than that on him and it just looks silly.

Re: Moms of Bigger babies
DS was 9lb 14oz at birth..he is currently 11 months old and in 18 month clothing...he weighs nearly 28lbs.
I never buy more than a season in advance, at this age IMO its just too hard to predict and not worth the lost money/clothes when I get the wrong size!
