Moms of boys: hair product questions...

Christopher's hair needs some help.

It does need to be trimmed in the back, but we aren't going to do it just yet, but it does need to be held down back there too.

I have no clue how to style it or what do to with it! Please help!Chat Icon Chat Icon

Why dont you want to get it cut?

With Noah I just wet it down to smooth it and sometimes I will spray a bit of hairspray on his hairbrush and then run it through the back to keep it down. Doesnt always work...

Honestly, I don't want to spend the money on a hair cut for that poof in the back of his head. The top needs nothing. My mom said she'd do it, but got nervous.Chat Icon Chat Icon

You know I've had my share of bad hair days with Jack Chat Icon

There is a baby gel that they sell - I used to use that to tame his hair a bit.

But, I think for what Christopher has I would do what Donna is suggesting -- wet the back of his hair - and then spray it down a bit. Also try not to put him in the carseat or anything his head would lean against for a few minutes until it dries completely!

Rylan gets that exact poof. I call it his nest...lol. It happens mostly when in the stroller or carseat...anytime his head is against something.

Re: Moms of boys: hair product questions...

I would spend the money and get a hair cut... putting product in his hair may make it look greasy.

I go to kids cuts in Centereach and its $12, but Im sure if you took him to super cuts or lemon tree it would be even cheaper.

Like Donna said, they are going to shape the whole thing, which in turn will make it grow in so much nicer!

If you want to hold off cutting then I would suggest getting a kids shampoo with conditioner to make it softer and also maybe the hair gel that Diana mentioned.

Lucas used to get the same thing before we cut his hair but we dealt with it for a while. Rich believed (and still stands by it) that using a baby wipe to smooth down Lucas' hair worked wonders. I'm not ready to agree Chat Icon Chat Icon

Usually brushing it works to get it down, but like Dawn said, the car seat makes it all fluffy again.
