Moms of boys with lots of hair
When did you get it cut? My DS is only 6 months but his bangs are in his eyes all the time! I am scared he'll look like a big boy!

we waited till a year, well 11 months and did it in Disney!!! It was awesome...now we look back and we understand why everyone called him HER!!!!

We were able to wait til a year because his hair got curly. He only had problems in the bath and swimming, so we waited. But if it wasn't curly and was in his eyes all the time, I would've done it around 6 months.

We trimmed the sides around 9 months (we were trying to wait until 1 year) but then at 11 months had to do the whole thing – his hair was in his eyes! I will admit I waited until after his 1 year pics & holiday pics were taken because I wanted him to have his baby hair, and afterwards he did look more like a toddler than before!

DS was born with so much hair he got his first trim at 3 months old. He has gotten regular hair cuts every month since then. His hair was past his eyes at 3 months old. My mom just cut his bangs at first - months 3-5. By 5 months he was getting his entire head done. He has very long hair. We had a huge debate in our family about cutting his hair. I even called our family rabbi for his blessing that it was ok to do it. He had to speak with my grandma to calm her down and say that it was alright for him to get a haircut before his first birthday. It was major drama in my family. I am so glad that we cut his hair, but looking back at photos he looked so sweet with the long baby hair.

Same here. DS had his first haircut at 3.5 mos. It was a little traumatic for me because it made him look like a big boy, but I am so glad we did it. When I look back at last year's Christmas picture before his first haircut I don't know why we waited so long to do it in the first place - he looked like a ragamuffin LOL!

I trimmed Noah's hair regularly, but I only took him for a proper haircut until he was about 18 months old. He has a lot of hair.

the first 'trim' was at 1 year. then almost a year later, he went for another trim and it looked like a mullett  . I had to fix it myself and cut more than I would have liked. Now, I am NOT cutting his hair for a while

DS hair is crazy he has a ton of it! It is just all over I love it. Everyone tells me she is so pretty!! Anyway I just can not part with it just yet!! My family is all over me to cut it!! Sorry 12 more weeks when he is a year!

We shaved DS's head completely when he was around 4 months old (for religious reasons.) And it all grew back way too quick! I went to Target and got a cheap trimmer set and DH and I used it on his head a few weeks ago (at 8 months old). Trimming it ourselves was not as bad as we thought!

We waited til he was 1. His hair grows like weeds & is also always in his eyes but he is not a fan of the barber.

DS got this first trim at about 3 months and has had 2 full haircuts since then. he is 8 months old.
My mom gave him the first without my permission and I was livid.
After that the texture changed a little and became straigther so it was in his eyes all the time.
I'm not sure if my mom didn't cut it initially if he would have gotten a haircut by now but I think so.
It grows SOOOOO fast and I always get the "she is so pretty" comments too.

10 months and he needed it! now it grows sooo fast still. He gets a cut every 8 weeks and I can barely stand how long it is at 8 weeks later!

Thanks for the replies. When he wakes up in the morning it's spread out over his eye the poor thing! I swoop it to the side but it's so messy shortly after.
I have gotten "she"comments already and I still at 2 yrs old get "he" comments on DD.
