mom's of infants at daycare

do you call to check on DC every day? I just like to check in once to make sure everything is going okay. Is it too much to continue this? DD's only been going for about a week now, so it's still new for both of us!

No I actually have never called. DD started daycare last tuesday. If she is having a bad day I really don't what to know or that will make me upset at work. I figure if something is wrong they will call me.

I called everyday, about the same time. My sister works there & she said they don't mind at all & many parents call, too. Do what you are comfortable with - it's your child & they are "working" for you to take care of your child.

Re: mom's of infants at daycare

I did maybe the first week and now I only call if there is something I want to check in about. for example, lately she has been teething and refusing to eat so I call to see how that was. i feel the same was as a PP...if she is just cranky, I don't really want to know because I can't help and if there is a real issue, they will call me.

Re: mom's of infants at daycare

thanks ladies. i'm starting to feel better about her being there since she seems to be adjusting so well. I guess I'll stop calling, because like you all said if she's upset and there's nothing I can do about it, I'll just feel worse!

Re: mom's of infants at daycare

When DS first started daycare last September, he was only 13 weeks old so I called a couple of times per day. Sometimes more. Now, I call just once per day to make sure he is okay.

I called for the first week or two every day and then stopped. I know they will contact me if there is a problem.

Call as much as you want. I did this in the beginning and there is nothing wrong with it.

Now at 16 months i check in here and there or when I think he doesnt feel 100%

Re: mom's of infants at daycare

I did in the beginning - it was all I thought about! Then one day I was just too crazy at work to call and by the time I thought of it, I was leaving in an hour. After that I've only called when he wasn't feeling great or there was another purpose.

You'll get to that point, I promise Chat Icon

Same here...I'll call if she isn't feeling well or teething.

At first, I WENT there everyday because I worked nearby. Now I just call if needed. But not every day.
