Moms of same sex children, question.....
How did you respond if you recieved the following response to your announcement:
Announcement: I am having a boy
Response: Another! (unethusiastic reply)
This happened to my friend today at least 3 times and I felt so bad for her. Why would people say such a thing? I always say: Wonderful, Congratulations!
I just don't get it!

Yep, got that with baby boy#2. It's sad. If I have a 3rd I'm either not finding out the sex or keeping it a secret.

i will never understand why people assume that everyone should want "one of each" or at least one boy and one girl.
would i love a girl? sure, i'd love anything i get! but my son is the most fantastic thing in the world (maybe i am biased  ) and if i had 10 more of him i'd be the luckiest mommy ever.
i wish i knew of a snappy comeback for your friend, that is so rude of people to say

I got that alot with my second DD. I even still have people say right in front of my girls "are you going to still try for a boy?". My situation is a bit different though. I DID have a son that passed away. So if people say it rudely to me I will mention I had a son first and while I would love to have another son some day I am pleased with what God has given me. That shuts up most people fast If they seem nice and didn't mean anything by it then I simply say "I hope to one day have a son but I will be happy if I am only blessed with daughters.
I must admit, I always wanted 1 of each, well 2 of each since I want 4 living children. So I don't normally get offended by it because it seems like most people want to get the experience of having each sex. Maybe if I didn't hope to one day have a boy I would take more offense to it but I do hope to have another son someday. That being said I love having 2 girls and I wouldn't trade them for anything

When we found out we were having one of each everyone assumed we were done and asked us about that.
Bottom line in people say whatever comes into their heads without thinking!

I only have one, but I just wanted to say one thing. While it is wonderful to have a boy and a girl, it is just as wonderful to have the same sex. How wonderful is it for a girl to have a sister, and a boy to have a brother. While I would love to have a girl, another boy will be just as great. I actually always said that if I had a girl I would much rather have another girl because sisters are so wonderful to have. JMO

I got that and when I was pregnant with my third everyone assumed that I wanted a girl... Now that SHE is here everyone says "oh you got your girl".
I love my boys and would have welcomed another:)

This makes me SO mad! B/f I knew what I was having this time around (I already have a boy) people kept saying to me "maybe if you are lucky it will be a girl this time" or something to that effect. This made me so mad! I could care less what the baby's gender is - all I care about is that I have a healthy baby! Then, when I found out I am having a girl I get comments like "oh you are so lucky - now the pressure is off" - the pressure is off? what does that mean - oh and this one was my favorite - now you will have the "perfect family" - um, so if I had all boys it wouldn't be? People need to get with the program and realize that a HEALTHY baby of any sex is a blessing!
