Moms of toddlers.. please help!! Potty related
Kaila has been potty trained since last summer.. she was 2 1/2. No accidents and we even had her in underwear at night and no accidents then either.
Now all of a sudden she is pooping in her pants.. not pee just #2. Its happend every day for the last 4 days. I just put her in a pull up and she's really upset.. more so because her friend is over and she's wearing underwear.. not a "diaper".
I think its because she just doesnt want to stop what she's doing and to me thats not good. I dont want her to get in this habit.. its happend a few times before this too recently. What should I do? I feel bad but at the same time she knows what she's doing is wrong.. she knows as soon as she does it. Help!!! She's almost 3 1/2.

I think you are exactly right about the reason for her sudden accidents, mainly bc she was doing perfectly fine before that. It happened with my DS - and it's more common than I knew when it first started with my DS. We eventually sought out a pediatric gastro but if you want to nip it sooner than later, start by having her go on the potty 3x a day. Not sure if she will sit for 10 minutes like the ped gastro says The potty should be after breakfast, after afternoon snack (or lunch if that is doable) and after dinner. And obviously at any other point where she feels the urge herself. Even if she had luck at any point in the day, still do the 3x, it's the best method for retraining them. You can FM me if you want more info on the whole process or the name of the ped gastro we used.

Do not put her in a Pull up. Just my opinion, but I think that it eats their self esteem, especially for a child who has been trained for a good amount of time. I would not make a big deal of it, but make her clean herself up (of course help if she needs it), put on fresh panties, and move on.

Ok.. thanks for that. I guess I just got so used to her knowing when she had to go and never having any accidents that this is really driving me crazy. The retraining process seems like a good idea. Im going to start that tomorrow.. I know she is not going to want to sit there for 10 minutes but Ill do my best.
