I have started a registry to keep things in order when I remember we don't have it anymore. (I am having a girl when I had a boy 5 years ago.) Suddenly I forget that I threw out my boppy, the bouncer broke, etc. That way I can add stuff as I remember it. If someone wants to grab something from it, that's fine.

my first and second were 7 years apart & different genders, so i had 2 big showers. my second and 3rd were only 19 months apart, my close friends had a sprnkle for my 3rd at a close friends house. I created a registry for each so i knew what i needed and i knew close friends and family would buy me something & would prefer it to be something i needed.

My DC will only be one year apart so I am not registering since I have everything. I am buying the double stroller, second video monitor and crib myself.

why does it hurt to have one?
If you go around telling people I'm registered here - go buy me a gift from there - yeah not the best taste.
If you register and someone said I want to buy you a gift where are you registered - makes it easier for them.

It can't hurt to have one, so you know what you need and the completion coupon is great. For those who are horrified, they dont have to get you anything.
