Moms that make DC baby food...What do you do when you are not at home?
How do you warm the food? With the jars I know you can just feed as is but, since the homeade baby food is cold from the fridge how do you heat it up if you are not in a home - like in a restaurant or outside? I have the little travel bowl with the compartments but I don't know how I will warm it up? It would be ok if room temp but, i don't think my son will eat it cold from the fridge.
TIA!

I would plan ahead and take it out to get room temp a few minutes before they ate.

In restaurants I ask for a hot cup of water and place the bowl with food in it on top, as long as it wasn't frozen it usually heats up quickly. You just have to stir it frequently so it warms evenly. I use the Gerber Bunch of bowls when we go out because I find they let the food warm faster. Maybe if you are using a larger bowl you could ask for a soup bowl of hot water.
If we are at someone's house I heat in their microwave. I use glass or other non plastic.

I used to buy jarred food for these types of occassions.
Or I made sure that there were things on the menu that I could adapt for DC..such as a baked potato.

While DC is not on solid foods yet, my MIL bought this thing for me - it warms both bottles and baby food jars using your car lighter device:

I just use Earth's best organic for these occassions! I find it so much easier! And Target sells them for .64 a jar! Cannot beat that!
