Moms that pump a lot (or EP) did your baby ever lose his/her ability to latch?

I really don't LOVE nursing (though I'm OBSESSED with pumping!) and try to make time to do it 2-3x a day in place of pumping when I can because I'm worried she'll forget how to latch and I always want the option of nursing to be there.

Is it possible if you got a day or two <or more?> without putting the baby on the boob that they'll forget how to latch or give up completely? Any experience?

For the most part, I EP. Everyone always says that nursing is such a great bonding experience, etc. It's ok, I like the bonding but it takes FOREVER for him to eat and that sounds selfish of me but I work part time and don't have the time for hour long nursing sessions so I pump A LOT and like you, I try to nurse him at least once a day so in case we are somewhere without a bottle or for whatever other reason. But sometimes, we just don't have time for a nursing session and I'll skip like a day or two, even a week and DS still latches like a pro for me.

I think once they get it, they get it. DS can go a week without nursing, and latch right on with no problem.

Sometimes I go two days without nursing and she latches on just fine after!
