Re: Moms that were Induced- Need Advice

I had pitocin with both deliveries and I can tell you, there is a remarkable difference between contractions on pitocin and contractions not on pitocin. They really are more painful! (I didn't have an epi with either child. I have a condition during pregnancy that prohibits me from getting one.)

So for that reason alone, I am a advocate for waiting until your body is ready and preparing yourself for the big day.

I had two rounds of cervadil, no pitocin and no c-section. Every body is different, and you'll have to see how you respond to the medication.

i had 2 natural deliveries after being induced and i would do it again in a heartbeat! i loved induction and had cervidil but just a small bit of pitocin. yes it was painful, but that's what an epidural was for!Chat Icon

I was induced 1 week early with my first son. It was a long labor (22 hours) but he was born vaginally, no c section needed. Chat Icon

I was induced at 41 wks with Pitocin. Started at 9AM, DS was born at 8:30 PM.

The doctor that was there really only caught the baby and did the episiotomy. The nurses spent them most time with me. JMO but I would base the induction date on the availability of your doctor.

You never know what is going to happen until it happens...Good luck...

This is true. I was induced with DS # 1 at 38 weeks 5 days. 21 hours later I has hardly any progress and had an emergency Csection because the cord was around his neck.

From what i have heard, it goes much more smoothly if your body is "ready" for labor. You really don't know what will happen or how until you are going through it. You can go into labor naturally and still need a c for whatever reason. Either way, you will be glad baby is here healthy. Trust me, coming from a woman who was dead set against a csection and just had her second. Good luckChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
