Moms who have FP Papasan Swing...
Do you find that it swings very fast? Mine does, and I'm wondering if it's a motor defect....

Oh no! That sucker used to WHIP DD in it...you can drape a blanket over the swing to slow it down. We would actually sit and crack up watching how fast it went when she was so tiny!

No...but It has a dial for speeds so you can slow it down or speed it up.

I don't think we ever went above the 2nd setting until he was too big and we packed it up. When he was smaller, we used to drape the blanket over to slow it down-I think it even says to do that in the directions.

Re: Moms who have FP Papasan Swing...
We thought it was fast and swung high as well. We stopped using it after about three months.

YES! I hate how fast it swings. We try to weigh it down, but DD hates the swing so we barely put her in it

Re: Moms who have FP Papasan Swing...
DD loved it until about 5 months and it didn't seem fast then. However, in the beginning, we would put a blanket over her to slow it down.

Pretty much right from the beginning. She would sleep in it all the time. Do you have it in the reclined, cradle position going side to side or the forward facing setup?

It definitely goes fast but she doesn't seem to mind. I just make sure to buckle her up.

DD didn't like until about a week ago (she is 4 weeks now). She used to love the bouncy chair and hate the swing, now it is reversed.

I have it reclined, and have tried both directions. I'll keep trying. She is just starting to like her bouncer....but I think it makes her pee, so I usually have to change her AGAIN when I put her in, and then she'll sit & sleep in it.

Re: Moms who have FP Papasan Swing...
We used to put hand weights under the seat to slow it down. The bigger Taylor got, the slower it would swing, even on the highest setting

I used to put it on first setting and it was fast...towards the end, even the last setting was too slow

Re: Moms who have FP Papasan Swing...
My friends and I were just talking about this! We were saying how it goes so fast and that all the settings seem the same! I was thinking about writing to FP b/c it seems like everyone that owns it feels the same way. We were putting DS in the swing as soon as he came home from the hospital. We were using a blanket to slow it down, but ever since I read "happies baby on the block" I put it on the highest setting. DS loves it.

I have her in the upright position b/c of her reflux - if I reclined her = VOMIT w/o fail!
I have tried it in either direction too....
I'm thinking it's just cuz she is still sooooooo light.... She's only 10 lbs right now.
