Moms who have had a VBAC
DId you dr. induce or refuse to induce/augment labor?
Mine already told me she would not, since it can increase the risk of uterine rupture, but I have been hearing from a lot of other woman who have attempted VBAC, and their doctors preferred to induce so that there whole labor could be monitored. I'm just curious, b/c I may be willing to switch dr's at this point b/c I really dont want a c-section.

Re: Moms who have had a VBAC
Well, I haven't had one yet, but I'm hoping for a VBAC in May.
My doctor supports my wish, but did say that induction is not an option. Also, she said that they will not let me go more than "a few days past" my due date. We'll see what that means in a couple of months...
Anyhow, I noticed on one of the pregnancy board threads that you are scheduled for a repeat c/s more than a week before your due date. Can you push that back, so your body has a better chance to go on its own? Maybe even schedule it on your due date if they don't want you to go late at all??

Re: Moms who have had a VBAC
I had a VBAC in May, exactly 2 years after I had my son via c/s. My doctor would NOT induce or do a version (she was breech for while and it was looking like another c/s but she did flip for me at 36 weeks).
Anyway, my doc would not induce because it brings on contractions that are super strong. My doc said I HAD to go into labor on my own for me to try VBAC. My doc was also cautious about letting me go too far past my due date because the bigger the baby, the harder it would be. We scheduled a c/s for one week AFTER my due date to give me the best possibilty to go into labor on my own. I never needed to because I went into labor 10 days before my due date.
When I called my doc and saif I think I was going into labor, he had me come in ASAP so they could monitor me because of the prior c/s.
She was born a few hours later, after pushing for 3 hours, but it was the best thing I ever did!!
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask away!

I have to have a certain doctor from the practice do it for insurance purposes (they are not covered under my new plan, but the insurance company will pick it up if I see only one dr.) and thats the only date she had open unless I want to go a week overdue and she wont let me. If i go into labor, and obviously HAVE to see the on-call dr., then the insurance company will cover it b/c its considered an emergency.
