Moms with 2 under 2 or very close in age...
Did you have a shower or sprinkle? I never had a formal shower with DS and instead had a luncheon with some close friends. I realize we won't need a lot of the big stuff (stroller, infant carrier, etc). I was just curious to know if it would be weird to have a sprinkle and even weirder if I threw it myself. I love parties but don't know if that would be too strange.
Thanks.

My kids are 20 months apart. I had a shower for my first, but nothing for my second. I had everything i needed from baby #1. all i really ended up getting for baby #2 was clothes.

My SIL is so excited to throw me a SECOND shower- I told her that was silly- DD will be only 25 months when the next baby is born. But who knows what she will do

While I believe all babies should be celebrated, I wouldn't think of having another shower/sprinkle this soon. I just feel it's asking for people for more gifts. What about a "welcoming party" for after the baby is born?
I feel that sprinkles should be for people who have years between kids.

I am still undecided, but DH & MIL want a sprinkle if this baby is a girl. We registered for diapers, the double stroller, etc, and if people want to know what we need then MIL can tell them where we are registered.

I didn't. My girls are 20 mos apart. I am now PG with #3 a boy and he and my second DD will be exactly 2 yrs apart. I am not having a shower but I have thought about registering. People have always been so generous in the past and I'd rather get things that I need for DS (not that I am expecting anything).

I really like this idea. I want to do something more to celebrate his/her arrival but don't want people to feel obligated to buy us things, KWIM?

My kids will be 16 months apart. I do not expect a shower or a sprinkle, neither of our extended families has ever done this before for anyone else. However, a small group of my gfs we always have a sprinkle for each other (there are only 6 of us or so), we go to dinner or lunch and give a group gift.

we are in this kind of boat. Im not really for a sprinkle since I too feel like Im askign people for things, but my Aunt is insisting on it. I may give in, ONLY if its a girl. If its a boy I need next to nothing but it will be VERY small.
I had about 75 people at my sons shower, Iw ould think maybe 10-15 family and close close friends this time, as more of a celebration of our miracle.
