Mom's with DD's in dancing school...quick question about recitals.....

We have DD's recital coming up and I have to buy the tickets tomorrow. We have a lot of people coming and I was just curious, am I supposed to pick up the tab for these tickets being it is my daughter?? They are not cheap, $15 a ticket and we are talking at least 8 tickets so far. Someone also pointed out to me how usually, after the reital you go out to eat....am I supposed to pick up that tab too?? Thanks!!!

Ours are $24 each and I am buying 6 of them for family members to attend. I am paying for the tickets. IMO, if I am inviting someone to the recital, I pay for the tix.

Re: Mom's with DD's in dancing school...quick question about recitals.....

Two years ago the tickets were $12 and there were about 14 family members going. Everyone paid for their own tickets.

Last year our tickets were $15 and I paid for my mom, MIL, sister and SIL (as well as mine and DH's) I paid for all of them.

This year they are $17 and we aren't in the same financial situation so anyone who wants to go is going to have to pay for their own ticket.

We've never gone out to eat afterward. DD is usually so exhausted that it would not be enjoyable for anyone.

With all the money parents pay out for dance school (tuition, shoes, costume, pictures, etc) I would never have a parent pay for a ticket if I wanted to go to the recital.

I buy the tickets initially and then everyone pays me back (my mom, dad, SIL, MIL, etc.) We never go anywhere afterwards. Even at 13 years old DD is tired after. (She's in 3 classes) Its late too so we all just go home.

We have 8 people coming to Chloe's. We will be paying for them. they are 15 a piece.

You are only allowed to buy up to 6 the first round... 2 weeks later you can but more and there is usually no problems...

I am a single mom and financially just cant swing it. The tickets are $20 a peice. Everyone pays for their own and they dont mind at all. Sometimes we go out to dinner, sometimes DD is too tired. We all kind of split it.

Everyone is paying for their own. I'm also a single mom so it would just be too much, but I don't think anyone would expect me to pay for them to come if I was in a better financial situation, although I might treat them. We are going out after to celebrate but it is also mothers day so my dad will treat.

Yea see this confuses me too bc I feel funny asking for money if I am inviting them.

Ours our 22 a ticket! and I am sure we will go out out eat afterwards so I guess its going to be an expensive day lol

We are giving the tickets to the grandparents as part of their mother's day gifts from my dd. This way I pay, but it is a gift too. Our tickets are $24 each.
