I have a very stupid question - when you girls say that the baby was breach - how do the doctors know this? Is this what they look for when doing internals? I just wasn't sure if they actually give you a sonogram at that time - or if that's what the internals check for.
when I went for my 32 week sono - the baby was breech, the tech can tell that his head was up in what felt like my rib cage. I ended up getting a weekly growth and non-stress test (nothing to do with baby being breech) and he never flipped.
at 37 weeks (my first internal) dr. was sure she felt a foot so my c-section was the following day.

Re: Moms with Planned C-section......
I had a scheduled c-section due to medical reasons. It was scheduled 2 weeks earlier then my due date but he ended up coming 3 weeks early with an emerg c-section.

Re: Moms with Planned C-section......
This is my third pregnancy and third c-section.
1-son was posterior and almost 8 pounds-posterior thats like over a 10 pounder they said, over 30 hours labor--3 1/2 hours pushing and then c-section
2--tried vbac--daughter went into distress and rec emergency c-section- knocked out with gas mask.
3--twins..and no way can I try vbac-come to find out pelvis is abnormally shaped and baby would have to be extremely small to pass, also high risk of uterine rupture.
I never wanted a c-section and still do not..alot of us simply have no choice./

i'm sorry to sound ignorant but why would anyone need to plan a c-section? how do they know in advance? i thought it was just if the labor wasn't working out...
some women can't fit a baby through their hips/pelvis. some have had emergency c-sections in the past and it's dangerous to try to go through labor and risk rupturing the scar. others have health/medical woes that make the "trauma" of labor/delivery too much for their health/safety.
on a side note, if you work in hollywood, you might schedule one to fit the baby into your filming/recording schedule
