Monday QOTD ....... a little personal

Ok, well this is something that's been on my mind lately with my RE appointment that's actually TODAY!

It's on the personal side.....

How many of you consciously try to avoid BDing before a gyn/RE appointment? I have a no BD policy for the night before I'm just wondering if that's what most people do! I just always feel like it would be SO embarrassing for the doctor to see 'leftovers' and possibly then not be able to perform the exam ... like what if they interfere with pap results, etc

Am I the only weirdo who thinks this way?

I actually never thought about this before, until I did go for an exam and I had to pee in the cup and she commented that I had a few things in there that I shouldn't
I then told her and she is like yeah I figured that

I don't either. I never really thought about "leftovers" , but rather like you said...if there's a possibility it could affect the Pap results.

I never really worried about it. I figure my RE and OB has probably seen pretty much everything and has encountered all kinds of stuff so I don't sweat it.

I never thought about it but I just found out last nite that DH apparently does. I was shocked. Unless I am told not to BD then it doesnt matter

i ALWAYS refrain from BD 1-2 days before a gyno apt. i was always told its not good to BD before the gyno

I actually thought about this with my last appointment, but basically had no choice but to BD the night before--I was O'ing and I wasn't going to miss out on the chance.
I figure my dr has probably seen it all

My doc says to avoid it for 36 hours before a pap, to avoid getting abnormal results.

I find it funny that there are some people who never thought about this till now! It's true though, I am sure they have seen it all!!

.... although... this reminds me of a time I got a pedicure even though I needed to shave my legs pretty badly! I decided I really didn't care because I assumed they have all seen their share of hairy legs ... well while I'm getting my pedicure the woman looks up at me and says "you shave?" (and of course the woman next to me looks over to sneak a peak! ......... My response: "well obviously not"

I guess that wasn't as related as I led on......

That is too funny!!! I always shave my legs before I get a pedi because im afraid something like this might happen!!

Yea I used to!! but then I read that it's actually bad to because you can get tiny cuts on your legs and not realize it an then it's not sanitary

Yes, I abstain the night before the gyno. No reason for him to be near my DHs stuff.

This reminds me of the joke with the woman and her daughters facecloth filled with glitter and the MD is like, wow you really prepared yourself today.

once you start seeing an RE abstaining for the doctor goes RIGHT out the window!! they even tell me when i should BD, so if i have a monitoring appt the next day - you bet I'm not going to miss a BD opportunity for his sake!!

whats funny is one morning we BD'd on a day that i had an appointment with the RE and DH was all nervous. then i thought - well you have to go to the RE on CD3 a lot of times - so that means medium flow AF - so i doubt they mind the BD leftovers when they have to deal with mid-flow AF!!!

but to be honest i def felt that way when i saw an ob/gyn. i would try not to bd around appointment time. but now i dont even think twice about it.

one thing though - if you are ever getting an internal sono make sure you pee first - if you're bladder is full they can tell - and if you're doctor isn't shy he'll tell you too!! (the exact phrase used was "i wont charge extra for this - but your bladder is full.")... what's weirder is that i wasnt really aware of it til he pointed it out...
