Re: Money saving tips...
You may already be doing this but automatic scheduled transfers into your savings account is the best tip I can give for saving.
You program a set amount, and make sure it's a tad bit more than you are comfortable with giving up each month...you'll be surprised that you won't even miss it and before you know it you'll look at your savings account and say wow!

I manually do it- I even opened a new e savings account at citibank- it's 5% interest
I am saving at least 20% of my pay check a month now- and I still have money left over
I bet I can make it automatic- I should look into that - thanks!

Re: Money saving tips...
That is great news to hear! Since I was a teenager my Mom always told me to save money .. I'm so glad I listened to her ..I have always been a saver once you see how much money you have in the bank you always want more! But don't get me wrong I also LOVE TO SPEND!

Re: Money saving tips...
I guess the one thing that has really helped me recently is food shopping according to recipes I want to make that week.
I used to just buy random stuff here and there and was constantly running back and forth to the store. Now I plan my meals in advance :)
Now I need to order the newspaper on the weekends for the coupons!!!!!
Thanks for all of the tips! Keep em coming!

Re: Money saving tips...
These are all great suggestions.
magazine & newspaper subscriptions are much less expensive then picking them up at newstands.
AMEX has that rewards program that sometimes triples points for groceries & gas. They add up quickly and since you pay the balance each month, there's no finance charge. You can use the points for travel, gifts, gift cards, etc.
