More IUI questions
I'm wondering about costs.
My insurance says that it covers 100% for the "diagnosis and treatment of infertility", but it does not cover IUI/IVF.
Up until now, my insurance has covered all of my tests and doctor visits.
So, I know this means we will have to pay out of pocket for the IUI, which, at my RE is about $200 ($50 for the sperm washing and $150 for the IUI).
But, what about any test/procedures leading up to the IUI? I know she'll probably do an ultrasound and/or bloodwork to determine my exact day of ovulation - will I have to pay that out of pocket as well, or does my insurance cover it as "diagnosis and treatment of infertility"?
I know, I know, I should ask them myselves, but I can't exactly call at 9:45pm

Re: More IUI questions
I believe your insurance will pay for the monitoring, but not the actual procedure itself. But of course, you should call them in morning and confirm that.

That's what I'm hoping - it could make the difference between $200 and $3000 - I'll definitely be checking tomorrow.

I would think that your ins. would cover all the testing, just not the procedure itself.

ITA
ETA: I would totally call and try to get it covered. If your Dr will write you a letter of medical necessity you may be able to get it all or partially covered-call your insurance company
