morning routine and daycare
DS STTN and today I had to wake him up at 6am to get ready (hes 10 weeks). everyone keeps telling me hes going to start sleeping later and later even if i put him to bed earlier. what do you do if your DC is still sleeping in the morning? id hate to wake him everyday and have him all cranky. does your DC usually go back to sleep once they get to daycare?

Re: morning routine and daycare
Sean started much later (7 months) but he STTN and normally will wake up at 6ish, take a bottle, and go back to sleep until 8:30/9:00 - Daycare days, he doesn't go back to sleep -
He will take a short nap there at about 8 or 8:30 .......and then bascially takes his normal 2 hr. morning (11am) and afternoon (3 or 4ish) naps -

Re: morning routine and daycare
He will most likely fall back asleep in the car. I would speak to the teacher and see if she minds getting him dressed. Then you can do the swoop and go, that's what I did

Re: morning routine and daycare
Our work week morning routine is like this:
He usually is in his crib sleeping by 8pm. I get up and shower at 6am and bring the monitor to the bathroom with me, I typically will hear him starting to fuss around 630am. Then I get dressed, go get him , feed him. Then get him dressed and out the door by 8.
BUT - lately he has been sleeping closer to 7. A few times, it was about 715 and I had to wake him. I feel absolutely terrible about waking him up but sometimes I have to or I will be late for work Worst case scenario, I can always have his teacher give him his first bottle, but truth is I like the time we spend together in the AM

Re: morning routine and daycare
i deal with this everyday now. DS sleeps til about 8:30/9am everyday, and I have to leave my house by 8am to drop him off and get to work on time.
most of the time, i pull him out of his crib, change him and dress him while he's still asleep. Poor baby usually wakes up when I get outside and the cold air hits him (he's no longer in the infant carrier) - it startles him, but he falls back asleep as soon as we get in the car. My commute is 35-45 minutes, so that's an extra 35 mins of sleep for him. I take him out of the car when I get to the babysitter and again, the cold wakes him and he's up for the day. The babysitter gives him his first bottle and food.
Sometimes I don't even dress him for the day. I change his wet diaper by taking 1 leg out of his pjs, swapping the diaper, then shoving his leg back in. Then I throw his fleece on and run out to the car.
He takes baths/showers at night - never in the morning.
I've perfected it so that I can get up at 7:15, get the baby and myself ready, and leave at 8. It took almost 2 weeks to get a routine going, but we're in a groove now
my daily schedule: 7:14 alarm do my hair, makeup, then get dressed change baby 8am leave house 8:45am drop off at babysitter 8:55am at the office 12-1pm lunch break: grocery shopping, errands, etc 5:30pm leave work and pick up munchkin 6:15pm home - baby falls asleep in the car and stays asleep until about 7pm 7pm baby wakes, eats bottle and food 7:30pm bath/shower, then playtime with Daddy while I get his pjs, take his clothes out for the next day, make bottles, and pack his diaper bag. I play with him for a little while, then we top him off with a bottle and he's in bed by 10. 10pm: I shower (if I didn't already shower with the baby at 7:30) and pull out/iron my clothes for the next day. 10:15pm: My TV/relaxation time! 12am: my bedtime - and then we start all over again!

Re: morning routine and daycare
We are up at 5:30 and give them a bottle. Done by 6am (we play with them a bit ). We get ready, then change them into their clothes, and are out the door by 7am the latest.

Re: morning routine and daycare
If I'm taking her to daycare, we need to be out the door at 6:15.
I normally nurse her in bed between 4:30-4:45 and she usually sleeps through it, then I go pump (although I've started to stop pumping ), let the dog out and jump in the shower. By the time I'm done drying my hair, getting dressed and everything else, I'll wake her up no later than 6AM to change & dress her.
Luckily she always wakes up cute & happy. Sometimes she'll be tossing or squirming or waking on her own when I'm in the shower or getting dressed ... so then after she's changed/dressed, I let her hang out in her crib with the mobile on and she laughs her head off.
On the days DH is working from home, they sleep in!!

Re: morning routine and daycare
DS will sleep later if I let him. Weekends he sleeps till about 7 - 7:30ish.
During the week I get up around 5:55 AM, shower, dress, make-up, etc... go downstairs around 6:20ish and put the bottles that are already prepared from the night b4 in his daycare diaper bag along with anything else. I also put my lunch and whatever in the car. Go upstairs around 6:30... wake him a bit then change him and put him right in the carseat. Sometimes he goes back to sleep in the car. Commute is about 25 mins. He gets his first bottle at daycare around 7:30ish.
