Morning Rush Hour Traffic near Boston airport - Help!
Does anyone here have experience with Boston morning rush hour traffic? I might have to go on a one day business trip to MA next Wednesday. I will be flying into Boston Airport and the location that I need to go to is in Norwood, MA. About 40 minutes from the airport. The flight will land at 7:45 am and I am getting a rental car. I am supposed to be in Norwood by 9 am. I already know I will be late but I am just wondering how late I will actually be due to the traffic.
The class ends at 5pm and my flight home would 8:50 pm so I think I should be ok to make it back to the airport and not miss my flight home.
If anyone can help me figure this out I would greatly appreciate it.
TIA!!!

The flight back you will be fine...unless there is a major accident.
Coming in could be an issue because by the time you land and get a car it will be9am

Thanks! I figured that but if I can get to the location by 10 am at least it will be worth it. Any later than that then I might not bother going.
Do you think I could make it by 10?

we live in Mass, my fiance worked up in that area and the traffic is horrendous. On a good day he would do the commute in 2 hours and that wasnt even rush hour; i dont think you would make it.

I don't think that would be much better. Seeing its a 40 min trip with zero traffic throw a back up here and there in and you are at an hour easily. Any major accident and it def will be later.
The only thing that might be good is that you are goign agaisnt traffic

Morning Rush Hour Traffic near Boston airport - Help!
You shouldn't have an issue coming out of Boston going towards Norwood in the morning, the bulk of the traffic is going the opposite way. If you take the Mass Pike (90) to 95S it will be fine or you can take the Mass Pike to the Southeast exp'wy (93S) should be clear too, the only pocket you may hit will be where 93 and 95 become one for a short time. If you take the Mass Pike to 95, from my memory, 95 clears up after Waltham/Newton before where the Mass Pike drops you, so you SHOULD be OK. I would check the traffic reports before you leave the airport to make sure there are no accidents.

Thanks for the info ladies!!! I'll have to think about this more and talk to my boss. I'm not sure if it will be worthy my sanity to try and make it out there. I was originally supposed to go to NJ this Friday but after Sandy that session was cancelled. The one in MA is the last in person session available.
