morning sickness/stomach pain
Hi! I am 6 weeks 5 days - went to the doctor, saw the heartbeat, all is well
Yesterday was my first day waking up and feeling like crap The nausea passed very quickly, but the stomach pains lasted all day yesterday and all day today. It feels like a pit in my stomach/chest. It is so uncomfortable and kept me up most of the night. I don't know if it is gas, heartburn, constipation (sorry - TMI ) Has anyone else had this? Milk seems to help a little, but I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions...

Re: morning sickness/stomach pain
Congrats on your pregnancy!!
I often get a heavy brick feeling in my stomach. Is that what it feels like for you?
My doctor's office said that eating smaller meals more frequently will help. When you're pregnant, especially in the first trimester, your digestive tract slows down, and a large meal will sit in your stomach for a long time (hence the heavy brick feeling). I think that heartburn/indigestion plays a role too. Try to avoid acidic food (I find it's worse for me when I eat a lot of acidic food like tomatoes). Also, never lie down flat after you eat, be sure to sit up, otherwise it will feel worse.
Feel better!

Yup! Definately feels like a brick How long does it typically last? I have had it for 2 days now with no relief

Re: morning sickness/stomach pain
For the nausea:
ginger ale water at room temp ginger snaps soup crackers
If you think its gas best to get up and walk around, try to fully stetch body to release gas, For example arms above head and strecth out while bending backwards

Re: morning sickness/stomach pain
edit: oops I didn't realize it might be gas for you.. hope you feel better
--- At precisely 6 weeks I threw up my breakfast with no warning and haven't been able to eat normally since.
Doctor prescribed zofran, it helped minimally and I am so scared to take it, so I wanted to find something more natural.
I kept trying a lot of the common things everyone will tell you to try (ginger, crackers, etc), it wasn't working, I was miserable.
so in my quest for info I came across this youtube video from "Dr. Jill"
and I have found that dunkin donuts (chocolate frosted with rainbow sprinkles only) is a miracle drug for me
I still can't really eat a real meal, but I eat a donut and an hour later I can have a glass of milk, or chicken soup, or boiled egg, or cooked veggies
and I always take one before I go to sleep with my vitamin and I wake up feeling almost normal
