Mortgage commitment letter that is DIFFERENT to the rate you locked at????
has this happened to anyone?
we locked at a rate with NO points.
the mortgage commitment letter has the right rate, but has us listed paying points of 0.75%
why would it be different?
(ftr, I also emailed this question to my mortgage guy...but he's in the midwest and hasn't started his work day yet  )
The bank is Chase if it matters at all.

Call them up and have them fix it and fax/email you out a new one. That isn't what you agreed to.

It could be a clerical error... or I've seen some banks say it's an application fee or some sort. Hopefully you can get it straightened out (and removed)!

my loan rep just emailed me back and said he hadn't had a chance to apply the Chase discount and that we do not, in fact, have to pay any points.
