mortgage/quitting job questions!
Hi, My DH and I are waiting to close on our house. Our on or about date was 5/14, but we are waiting on paperwork for C/Os. I am starting a program for teaching on 6/16, and need to put my resignation in work. I did NOT want to put my resignation in until we officially closed. Please correct me if I am wrong, but the mortgage company calls your employer to make sure you are still employed at closing. I should have put 4 weeks notice in, but that has past in the midst of waiting to close. I have 3 1/2 left there, but who knows, maybe we won't close until mid June. I don't want to s#rew over my job, but I don't want to take a chance losing my mortgage either. Please HELP!
Do you think it is ok for me to put my 3 1/2 weeks notice of resignation in or less? Has anyone had this experience?

Re: mortgage/quitting job questions!
I was in the same boat as you and I waited until the day after we closed then gave my notice. I didnt want to have any problems with the mortgage company re-checking my emplyment status

Re: mortgage/quitting job questions!
I know that when we closed in December, the mortgage company called my employer about 5 days before to confirm that I still worked there. Good Luck!
