Mosaic or Jewel for my birthday dinner?

Hmm. When I called Mosaic they seemed really cool. The even e-mailed me the 7 course tasting menu that they will offer on Saturday. I have also heard great things about Jewel from you guys.

Here is the menu they sent me:

my SIL loved Mosaic... said it was delicious...

I adored Jewel... the butter poached lobster is simply amazing.

My boyfriend and I recently ate at Mosiac. He and I eat out a lot and we often do the tasting menus and we both thought it was outstanding.

OK--Mosaic it is! I sent them an e-mail asking if they would have a seasonal drink menu in addition to the wines. They wrote back saying absolutely and that if I had any requests to let them know. I'm impressed already. :o)

Mosaiic hands down. We are foodies and go out a lot...
We were there last week. My DH and I thought it was one othe best meals we ever had!!! It was cozy, the waitstaff was very attentive and the food was amazing!!!!

Jewel- We were not impressed at all will not be going back. Brought friends from out of town and were embarrassed to have brought them there..

We had a great time. At first I was hesitant because when we walked in, one of the waiters found my name on the list and simply pointed across the restaurant and said it was our table. Even though the restaurant is tiny, I felt that he could have taken the four steps towards the table and presented it to us. Anyway, the food was great--the pork belly was so tender and juicy-and the squash puree dessert with pecan maple syrup and bacon was delicious! They even gave us champagne since it was my birthday! We will be back!

Don't eat out too much on LI since we don't live there and we mostly visit my parents and mom cooks, but will definitely have to check these places out!

Had quite possibly the worst meal ever at Jewel a couple of weeks ago. Terrible service, terrible food, terrible everything. Mosaic all the way.
