Food for Birthday Dinner?
We are doing separate dinner/cake for both families.
Saturday is my family. About 15 people. What kind of food would you do? We can't BBQ because the grill is not big enough.
Sunday is his family and we are doing pizza/pasta.

Re: Food for Birthday Dinner?
I would do ziti, meatballs, garlic bread, 2 kinds of salad.
OR i'd get a cold cut platter, a green salad, mac/pot salad and some rolls. Cookies and cake for dessert.

Re: Food for Birthday Dinner?
If you want to cook - I'd do maybe a turkey and a bunch of sides.
If you don't want to cook - maybe Country Rotisserie or something... order a bunch of rotisserie chicken and a lot of sides.. or Stop and Shop makes really good fried chicken - order a platter and whip up some potatoes, gravy, Mac and cheese, sauteed veggies, etc.
If it's earlier in the day - get a 4ft hero and some side salads. A&S Pork store makes really nice heros!
Good luck!
ETA: If you like the BBQ idea - you can hire a catering company to come and do it. They bring the grill, the food, the paper goods AND they clean it up.

Re: Food for Birthday Dinner?
All the above ideas are great!
You could also do Mexican. Tacos...ground beef, ground turkey, few kinds of beans, chop up different veggies, and let everyone make their own tacos. And have some guacamole, salsa, maybe even a taco salad or 7-layer dip for appetizers.

Re: Food for Birthday Dinner?
You can do trays of chinese if you don't want to cook - they give you a ton and it is usually pretty cheap

This is a GREAT idea! I did this for Robbie's 3rd birthday and it was a huge hit. We did shredded pork, ground turkey, beef and beans and laid out different shells and taco chips and all the fixings - hot sauce, onions, cilantro, guac, salsa, tomato, lettuce, cheese, lime wedges, sour cream, etc.. Add some pitchers of sangria, margarita and pineapple soda and you have a FIESTA!
