Most Memorable Valentine's Day Gifts
I am trying to help one of my best guy friends by coming up with an "extra special" valentine's day gift for his girlfriend.
What were some of the more memorable things your DH's or SO's did for you (besides Proposing - LOL)?
Thanks!!!!

Re: Most Memorable Valentine's Day Gifts
I suggested a scrapbook of their relationship, but he doesn't have too much time... (it is now 2/13 - typical guy)
The best gift DH got me was a surprise trip to the Domincan Republic. He called my job ahead and arranged for the time off and everything!

Three years ago, JT bought my wedding ring for me for V day. That being said, we don't really do V day.

Re: Most Memorable Valentine's Day Gifts
DH planned weekends away...One year he booked a weekend in Montauk for Valentine's weekend, which was so much fun. Another year we went to the city for a great dinner...The first year we were dating he got me a Vermont teddy bear and Tiffany heart earrings that I love. He did such a good job that year and we'd only been dating a couple months.

Re: Most Memorable Valentine's Day Gifts
our very first v-day together DH-then just a bf- made me a gift- he bought a pretty frame-8x10 and wrote a poem-put it on pretty paper- got a sweet card-he cut it up- got victorian looking stickers- and made a scrapbook type thing out of it- and put it in the frame- Also adding a picture of us at christmas time at the tree---coincidently, the same place we were engaged 4 years later-(it wasnt a coincidence, he planned it that way )
Also, one year he and my best friend's BF planned a night for us- we went to NYC and went on a spirit cruise- beforehand we took a horse and buggy ride in central park...it was very romantic

Re: Most Memorable Valentine's Day Gifts
It was a few years back. We were engaged and stressing about paying for the wedding. Then, DH got laid off.
He got me 2 of those giant Care Bears! He felt so bad because the year before, he bought me a really nice gift and felt like this was cheap in comparison.
I remember the bears the best!
Also, V Day of 2004, we had just moved into the condo. We didn't have any furniture. DH bought a table cloth (for the coffee table that we did have), and put roses on it. It was so pretty, but the only piece of furniture we owned, LOL

NICE!!! That is a dream for DH at some point. He's only attended the qualifying races at Daytona, but not the actual race.

Re: Most Memorable Valentine's Day Gifts
our first Vtines day, we had only been dating a short while.
dh bought me a "cupid bear" (one of those Hallmark jobs) and some cards.
he then sat me on the couch and told me to close my eyes. I heard him doing a few things, and then I heard music.
he had also bought me Elvis Greatest Hits ( ) but instead of wrapping it or anything, he "gave" it to me by playing "Can't Help Falling In Love" he put it on, sat next to me, and sang into my ear.
that was 2/14/1995. to this day, every time I think about it, I

I've gotten a ton of jewelry, clothes, lingerie, 3 day weekends but what always meant the most was what was written in the card.

Yes but I had a person that used to shower me with presents that his assistant bought so it didn't mean anything after a while.

Re: Most Memorable Valentine's Day Gifts
For our 1st V-day, DH surprised me with a Carolee choker that I fell in love with when we went shopping a few weeks earlier.
and for the same V-day, he got me a 2nd necklace, not knowing I was a big Judith Jack fan. He took a liking to it b/c of the X's and O's on it and thought it was fitting for Valentine's Day.
For our 2nd V-day, he surprised my by bringing me home a pearl necklace and earrings from Asia.

2 dozen roses delivered by DH personally to work!
ETA - The thing I look forward to most though is DH's cards - he writes the most beautiful cards and I've kept every one!

Re: Most Memorable Valentine's Day Gifts
Sappy but....
The very first Valentine's day we were really together, he sent me flowers to work. The card didn't say much. Dear Erin, Happy Valentine's Day. Love, Ed
It was that one word, Love, that got me.
I'm such a sap. I just checked my bag, and I still carry that card with me. I put it in every new bag I've gotten since then (4 years!).
