Mother's Day (& other things)

Is anyone else having a hard time with Mother's Day approaching? Last year, we were trying at this time, and thought that I'd be a mommy by this mother's day. We found out that I was PG a couple of weeks later, and I was looking for an expectant father's day gift for DH at the time I had my m/c. Even if this cycle is successful, I won't know it by next weekend, and I am having a hard time dealing with not being a mommy. My SIL will be celebrating her first mother's day, and I should be as well!

We were invited to a couple of (not close) friends' children's birthday parties in the next few weeks. One we turned down b/c we're going to be away, but the other we just decided to forego, as we haven't seen these friends since their daughter's birthday last year, and at that time we were pretty much the only people our age who didn't have kids or who weren't expecting.

Sorry about the pity party...I'm just having a rough time, since we're getting to the one year anniversary of originally finding out I was PG, and I'm still TTC.

Mother's Day is def a tough day. It reminds us of our miscarriages. I always think that I would of had my Due Date in March and would be spending this years Mother's Day as a new mom.

I'm dreading this weekend...I keep wanting to just pretend that it isn't going on. A year ago this weekend we told our parents we were pregnant, and this year, our arms are empty.

I'm hoping that the anticipation of it is worse than the actual day...

I will be working on sunday morning. I work as a cook and I will keep my self busy so I am keeping my fingers crossed that I don't think about the m/c.

I can't help but totally agree with all you wrote!

I am dreading mother's day this year. I was supposed to be pregnant for it.

and i know what you mean about forgoing parties, etc. seems like everywhere i look someone is pregnant!

MOthers day is a tough day...i actually took my MIL out last weekend and told her it was to avoid "all the mess of mothers day traffic and crowded restaurants"....my mom understands that we will not be doing anything crazy....i mean i guess ill stop by their houses and give them gifts....but thats all it is..ill be pretty upset and my due date is approaching also....its a double wammy for me

arghhhhhhhh dreading mother's day..... Monday would have been my due date with my 2nd mc so I am not looking forward to mother's day AT ALL. I think I am going to hangout with DH rather than seeing my mom or mil, or sil. Just spend the day with each other. I dont know. Part of me wants to celebrate my mother but then again I cant stop thinking about my two mc. Tough stop to be in. Tough spot indeed.

Can I join the pity party? Today someone said to me "Happy Mother's Day. Then she paused and said, Are you a mother?" My heart sunk.
