Motility and Morphology
DH and and I got our results back:
Me: AMH was 3.3 which was good My TSH levels came in at 3.1 at first. I did the bloodtest again but haven't gotten those results. HSG was good. My doctor said at first there looked like there was some debris in my tubes but he inserted more dye which spilled out.
DH: Sperm count was 39 million which was good. Motility was 35%- they want at least 50 % Morphology was 2%- they want at least 4%
So it looks like our issue is motility and morphology. The nurse said that morphology isn't as important as motility.
DH is a health freak..He runs, eats healthy, isn't overweight, doesn't smoke, and doesn't even drink coffee. He only drinks alcohol on occasion.
Has anyone tried FertilAid or Motility Boost for men? Any tips? Thanks!

Re: Motility and Morphology
Your best bet is to have your DH see a urologist who specializes in MFI ASAP. Any treatment they do will most likely take at least 3 months to have an effect.
Unfortunately, physical fitness is not an indication of fertility. My DH can attest to this.

Re: Motility and Morphology
My DH has 57 motility and 4 morphology He saw a urologist, but there was no treatment given. Once his sperm was washed his numbers were great.
Definitely see a urologist like Pitter Patter said. DH saw dr. Girardi - she's excellent!!!!
Good luck!

Out of curiosity, why did your DH go to a urologist? 57 motility and 4 morphology is normal according to my RE.

I think there are different grading systems. My DH had a SA done twice. First time morphology was 2% and second time it was 6%. My GYN at the time was concerned bc I think the normal is 15% which is why she referred him first to a urologist. The urologist however wasn't so concerned bc his count was high (68MM and 72MM).
I'd def take the steps the other ladies suggested and speak with a urologist first. Good luck!

They wanted to see 75% motility and above 4% morphology - that's what I was told by my GYN and RE.
As a PP mentioned, DH count was also very high (90 million) so the urologist just recommended IUI's.

Re: Motility and Morphology
Have you tried IUIs yet? Washing his sperm and having it put "in the right place" might be all you need to get pg. His numbers aren't great, but even seeing a urologist, it could take 3-6 months to see any change.

I just got back from the RE and got my hsg shot. He asked if we wanted to do an iui tomorrow but we are going to wait. I have no IF coverage and would rather try to get the sperm numbers up before doing iui. He said the iui would increase our chances by 5 percent at this point.
I wasn't expecting to do iui tomorrow. DH and I have plans and I'm trying hard not to let this turn our lives upside down. We will still be trying obviously..

Got it. Then I urge your husband to see a urologist who specializes in MFI. You'll get more info that way.
And if you triggered today, then you will O on Sunday, so make sure you BD Sunday AM. Good luck!
