Re: Motorcycles
Hubby has a 76 sportster. Looking to get a fat boy later this year or early next year.
I love love love going out on the bike. I hated it in NY though because the roads were rough and motorists have no respect for bikes. But I did enjoy the sunrise rides. Those were so relaxing.
In FL its gorgous to be out on the bike. It's bikers paradise. The roads are so sweet. I could spend all day cruising on the bike.

Most of our friends have them and go riding together. My brother has one and he took his girlfriend on a riding trip this weekend. But this is one thing that I do not feel comfortable with at all. DH is dying to get one, but it makes me sick to my stomach.
We have gone skydiving, rafting, hang gliding..etc...but I am terrified to get on a bike.
Anyone have a bike or share in my fear?
OMG, my DH has been on a motorcycle kick lately. He wants one really bad. I hate them, think they are so dangerous and I am a worry wart and the thoughts that run through my head kill me!! Every time he brings it up, I sorta walk away and try to ignore him. Then he brings it up again a few days later.
When we have a child, If its a girl I really love the name Harley (had a kid one year in school, that was her name and she was soo pretty and it stuc with me) Well, when I told DH about the name, he said there is no way he can name his daughter Harley and not have one. I sure did wanna kick myself in the arse for that one!!

Re: Motorcycles
I am not a fan of motorcycles at all. DH used to have one (before he met me) and I'm glad he no longer does. I know if he could though, he'd get one. But I'd never be okay with it.
As for idiots on the road...I see WAY more reckless motorcyclists than regular drivers being disrespectful to the motorists.
One night I saw a jackass STANDING on his motorcycles with his arms out to the side going down Sunrise Hwy.

Another reason to talk DH into moving out of NY

I would have to diagree, and I am not trying to flame or make drama, but it it is waaaay easier to spot a bad motorcyclist than it is to spot a driver who is not respecting a motorcyclist. I don't know if I am explaining this right, but when a biker is stunting or buzzing a car it is very obvious what he is doing, so it is more noticable. When a car is tailgating or cuts too close to a bike & disrupts his/her air flow, it is not easily seen but just as dangerous. Also, when a car sees a bike & will not let it pass (even when it is a legal pass & not being *buzed*) the driver is creating a really bad situation for the biker, or may force the biker to put down their bike.
I just feel like many of the drivers are not aware of what is around them, and that they do not know how to *react* to a biker driving near them.

Re: Motorcycles
I used to ride a lot with my ex BF. One day I want to own my own bike. I love them but you def have to be aware every second you are on a bike. I used to dirt bike - I miss doing that.
