Mounting a TV above a brick fireplace?
Anyone do this? I love the way it looks on those HGTV shows but I'm not sure how the mounting bracket would attach to brick.

You need masonry screws. To use them, you either need a special drill bit for the screws or a hammer drill. Hammer drill is the better option.
Before you put it up though, is it a working fireplace? My DH is always leery if you have an active fireplace.

Thanks for the advice. We're fortunate to have 2 fireplaces so the one we are considering for the TV is really just for "show" and would RARELY be used.

Mounting a TV above a brick fireplace?
Our TV is over our fireplace (but the brick does not go all the way up the wall - just up to the mantle) and then the TV is mounted on the regular wall over the mantle). But we have not had any problem with the fireplace affecting the TV
