Mounting Flat Panel TV above the Fireplace...
I really want to mount our flat panel tv above the fireplace.
Problem is, DH will NOT agree to it! He says he likes to look at the TV at eye-level. I mean, why did we buy this $$$$ flat panel TV just to keep it in a HUGE entertainment unit?
And, it would free up our room for SO MUCH more seating!
How do I convince him to mount it? I am sure I could sell our entertainment unit for almost what we paid for it.
I am in  w/ this!

I like it mounted on a tilt. unfortunately there is no way he can experience until its already up. do you have any friends with TV's mounted so he could test it out?

Bring him to Home Depot Expo in Commack!!!!! One look at the display they have and he will want to hang it. I am telling you it is absolutely gorgeous!!! Picture frame moulding and fluting to trim. My DH wants to go back and take a pic for our den.

We have ours mounted but can't run the electric behind it so we have to run the wires in front with some paintable moulding to hide them. That is the only disadvantage. The TV is tilted downa and it has really give us many more options for furntire and decorating.
Tell him everyone does it! I did it and I'm thrilled. It's eye level because your sofas are far back enough. He just wants to be on top of it like he sees in commercials with all the guys hanging around the TV 3 feet from it. Then you really can't appreciate it.

Thanks so much for all of your opinions!!! I think I just might put the entertainment center on Craigslist to see if we get any takers!
Once I know I can sell it, I think he might be a little more willing to mount it!!!!!!!!
