What brand name flat panel TV do you have?
I've heard that there are only 2 or 3 factories in the world that make these TV's and different companies like Samsung, Sharp, Panasonic, Westinghouse, etc buy them and put their own name on it.

many plasmas and lcd are like a "knock off" of major brands...they use different parts or don't include special features to get thier price lower.
for example...my 42 Plasma is a Maxent.
PPL never qustion what it is but for the techies that come to my house and ask..i just say i paid 1500 for it plus the majoraity of the parts are Panosonic which they are like, awesome price and parts.....
you can do major research (since this a big purchase) at AVSFourm website. You can do a search on a model to see what people are saying about a TV.
If you have costco membership, you can get a Vizio 42" LCD for 1300 . I don't need another set but im serious considering it at that price...

we have the vizio 50"plasma from costco - and considering the 42" LCD vizio from costco - great picture and shares parts with other manufacturers- just not payiong for name and adverstising
