Moving posts?!
I posted about recommendations for places to have my niece's christening and it got moved to the food board!
Why is that?!?!

Yeah someone's got a real itchy trigger finger lately...
And everything remotely having to do with food goes there...
Even if it has more to do with organization, or container size, or restaurants, evidently.
Now that this post has the word "food" in it, it will probably go there too.

May I ask why you enjoy the post moving so much?
I think it can be pretty stressful to the OP. For example, looking for a Christening place.. maybe she wanted a bunch of opinions from people that aren't parents, maybe those that have been to Christenings and enjoyed the venue?
I know I would have never seen it if it went to the parenting board.
Do tell!  I think you might be in the minority?

Agreed but someone like myself who has been trying for 4 years to have a sally to start walking doesn't want to look at it 
Not to mention that is why THERE IS A PARENTING BOARD! We wouldn't need all these other boards if every thing got put on NFR
AND.... Just cause we "suggest" the threads get moved doesn't mean they always do. LIF still has to go in and move them not me or don or anyone else

Exactly - LIF makes the call to move the thread. LIF is the one that added the report feature. LIF is the one that added all the forums we asked for.

and FYI - i didn't request this one be moved - Had I seen it, I would have reported it to be moved to parenting
i have nothing to do with the actual moving - i report them. it's LIF's discretion as to what get moved.
and do you know why i report them?
i'm doing a service to the sponsors of the boards, who pay to make this site free for all of us. If boards don't get traffic, sponsors pull out. When sponsors pull out - ron loses money. If Ron loses money, maybe one day he charges us to use this site. Is that what you want?
plus, on many boards, you can get banned for posting in the wrong forum. I've seen it. Ron is one of the nice ones.
It's simple
post on the right board
if you want to cross post it - fine.
Just title the thread on NFR "X-post from (correct board)"
then provide the link to that board, so we can have the choice to click on it.

I'm with the OP. I don't believe it belongs under Food or Parenting. You don't have to be a parent to recommend a venue/restaurant for a function, whether it's a christening, shower (bridal or baby), birthday, anniversary, etc..
There are some posts that clearly belong on certain boards, but I don't think restaurant recs is one of them, especially when it relates more to a function as opposed to their food.

I hate the moving of posts.....drives me crazy...especially when they move it to a place that's not helpful at all.
On another note......people really report about posts that need to be moved to another board to Ron, seriously? If you're annoyed that a post is posted on the "wrong board" then move on and don't read it. I'm surprised people would waste their time! JMO!

Seems kind of weird that this particular post was moved - the only connection I can think of is that since someone was looking for a restaurant/hall type of venue, it got moved to food.
For the record - I think complaining about posts being moved is just as much of a time waster as the activity of reporting posts. If the powers that be did not want posts in their proper place, they wouldn't have made that neat lil feature on the posts!
