Mucus Plug - TMI
I was in L&D Monday night with contractions. I'm 37 weeks, 2cm and 50% effaced. I was sent home after 2 internals bc of no progress and the contractions stopped yesterday. Anyway the 2nd internal I had was pretty rough and really HURT!!!
I had bleeding yesterday morning that slowly tapered off to brown spotting. Then last night I had....here comes the TMI part....a lot of dark brown mucusy discharge. It was brown, red and yellowish. I'm thinking it was my mucus plug but I'm really not sure. It was gross! Do you think it was due to the internal and bleeding or do you think it was the plug??
I'm so antsy after thinking I was in labor!!!

Mucus Plug - TMI
It was probably a bit of both-losing your mucus plug does not necessarily mean labor is eminent- you can lose pieces of it for weeks-it can also grow back so you could lose pieces of it for awhile.

i lost pieces of it over the course of two weeks. by the 40th week check up it was gone. you're probably starting to lose parts of it.
