I could use something like that. i use to run my old washer with soap and bleach every once in a while. Now I have the front load and I don't think it runs unless there are cloths in it.

How persistent is the smell? When we first moved into our house, we found we kept getting a bad mildew smell every time we washed our clothes. We could not figure out why it smelled. I ran vinegar and hot hot water to clean it. Only months later did I realize that the washer was broken- not spinning or draining properly. We had to buy a new washer and no more mildew!
