My 10K results
First of all thanks for all of the good wishes.
My first race was an "experience". I ran will follow federal law enforecment officers for the special olympics.
The temp at the start of the race was 89 degrees! There were vans following behind us in case we wanted to drop out.
Well I made it. 4 of 30 (from our agency) dropped out. But, I made it to the end. I was second to last (my friend let me beat him to boost my confidence.)
Here is my pace:
first 2 miles: 10.3 minute pace
next 2: 11.40 minute lace
Next 1 mile: 13.45 minute pce
Well between miles 5 and the end, thats were things fell apart. I did a walk/run combo. I think the final leg was a 15.30 minute mile.
When I reached the end, everyone was kind of waiting around for me (and 3 others). It was a bit embarassing.
But, it was for a good cause.

You must be so proud of yourself!! Who cares if you slowed down at the end and people were waiting? You pushed through it and finished. You didn't drop out! I'm so happy for you!

For your first 10K those numbers are great! The weather can have a HUGE impact! I know it can zap the life out of me!
