My 3 day potty training experience

At 19 months, I attempted to start potty training my DD. She would pee and poo in the potty, but I was at the end of my pregnancy and too tired to keep up with it.

Then I read about the 3 day potty training method and decided to try it once DD turned two since things would be a lot calmer with the new baby.

I set aside the entire last weekend to potty train DD (we did not make any plans to go anywhere, not even church). Before the weekend came, I kept telling DD that the diapers were almost finished and soon she would only be wearing panties. I told her she could not pee on the carpet and had to tell me when she needed to potty. Saturday came, I put her in panties only and explained again that she could not pee in her panties. I took her to the potty every hour, and every time she peed I did a little potty dance and song to get her excited. DD had accidents the first day, and within 24 hours she did not have anymore accidents! Now, she only wears diapers when she goes to bed at night, though she has been waking up dry. I take her to the potty right when she wakes up.

I highly recommend anyone who's dc is even remotely interested in potty training to try it. If it doesnt work that weekend, try again in a few months. It feels great to not have two kids in diapers! My only regret is that I didnt try it sooner.

Thanks, is this a book or something...what else do you do...my DS needs to go every half hour or he pees...
