My 3 year old has pneumonia. Her dance recital is tomorrow? Help
I just need opinions. Dd has been on antibiotics for 4 days and has not had a fever in two days. She is not contagious as per her doctor, although she seems very tired and run down. Should we still bring her to do her dance at the recital or keep her home? I'm leaning more towards keeping her home but I don't know why I feel so guilty that she won't be there. Thank you

Just my opinion and I may very well be in the minority...but pneumonia is usually a secondary infection that results from being really run down (it's also usually viral and not bacterial...though it can be). I would keep her home from everything until she is back to herself 100%. Not only will you set the precedent that health comes before all else....but she will get the rest that her body needs to fully heal and recover. So sorry to hear this....I'd be conflicted too...what a great, fun activity that she worked so hard on for so long. It would suk to have to miss it...but in the long run, she will likely miss out on many more activities if she doesn't rest.

I would keep her home. More than being worried abouther getting anyone else sick, I would be worried since her immune system is low that she will pick up something. Pneumonia is rough and it takes awhile to feel 100% afterwards.

I would keep her home. I am really sorry that she has pneumonia. I hope she gets well soon. Speaking from personal experience, I would keep her home until she is 100% better. I had walking pneumonia as a child and it was really difficult to breath - you might look ok, but are not 100% ok.
