I *think* it's because Talia squiggled to the side of the crib (Which she has never done before!!-some time to start!) Does the monitor not pick up the baby's movement there??

lucklily I had the video monitor too and I saw all was ok right away - I know I sound crazy - but I actually sleep sooo much better at night with the monitors - esp. since she sleeps in her room every night

This has happened to me. I know its scary. Last week it went off and when I went in my daughter was right in the middle of the crib sleeping soundly. My daughter does roll around in the crib and it seems to pick up her breathing. She is mostly side to side. The times when it has gone off she wiggled up to the top of the crib. You can adjust the sensitivity if it keeps going off.

It will go off if they get too far from the sensor pad.

Re: my angelcare monitor went off twice last night!
I'm actually glad I didn't invest in one for that very reason. Christopher has always slept on his belly and I considered getting one when we moved him to his crib at 1 month. Right from the beginning, he would squirm his way to one of the corners, so I'm glad we didn't get one, because it would probably be going off and making me panic every single night.

You can adjust the sensor pad and the sensitivity. We had to tweak it for a few nights when Cole started squirming all over, but now it gets him wherever he is.
