I was just watching Inside Edition and more animals died from the food 
Has anyone taken their dog/cat to the vet to have them checked out? I have an app't tomorrow I think I'm going to have her do a blood test.

Has the food the dog ate been recalled? What food was it?
It was dry food so it was not recalled (only the wet) but the vet took blood and it came back with rat poisoning,
Has this been reported to Menu Foods- that dry food is ALSO causing deaths? I feed my cats Iams

 this is so sad I am soo nervous about this whole recalled food thing I give my baby eukenuba dry food. and everytime i feed her i get nervous now I dont know what I would do without my lexi give your bil a big hug

As of today Scout is getting home-cooked meals -- brown rice, boiled chicken, raw carrots and zucchini, olive oil, enzyme powder.
I mix in SOME Science Diet dry since they aren't listed at all - not even canned.
According to Nutro, their dry food is made at a different plant and is not affected but I am playing it safe for now. http://www.nutroproducts.com/mfrecall.asp
I also just ordered from a natural dog food company - www.healthypetnet.com

OMG I feel so bad for your BIL and his dog
Everytime I hear someone pet getting sick or dying because of the food it gets me furious. It's not right. I hope that your BIL or his vet report the dogs death to Menu Foods ASAP.

I looked on the Iams website and it says that IAMS and Eukanuba dry foods are OK because they are not manufactured by Menu foods, but are made at their own plants.
ETA It says the same thing on the Nutro website--the dry foods are manufactured at their own facilities and not made by Menu foods.

We use Hills Prescription Diet® pet food, the dry kind. I checked the website and they have been very proactive. I feel confident our beloved furbabies are eating safe food.
I am so sorry about your Uncle's baby. Many hugs. I hope he does join the class action suit, it might make him feel better, but in the meanwhile I know that the support of you and your family must mean a lot to him.

No, of course it won't...nothing can truly make up for such a tragic and unneccsary loss, but sometimes suing people is the only way to teach them a lesson. The harder they are hit financially, the more motivation they have to change. Also, the money couldn't hurt. Even if it's just for the principle, to make them pay in some way for what they've done.
ETA: Maybe I just react in anger where others would react in sadness. But I just feel like I would definitely want to make them pay. We bought one fo the affected brands for our dog and she wouldn't eat it and we didn't know why. This whole thing just makes me really angry that so many animals have to suffer and that their owners have to deal with this loss after assuming pet food was safe. And if this can happen to pet food, could it also happen to baby food?

I'm so sorry to hear such horrible news. I wouldn't even know what to say. I brought my dog to the vet and it came back that she has kidney failure, but the vet thinks she will be okay. It's terrible that this had to happen to so many pet owners. I'm so sorry!!!
