that is really scary!!
can this happen to any other part of your body? or just your legs
They could never find any in my leg - yet I had severe leg pain (I couldnt rest my leg on the bed it was so painful.)
They are not sure - either they were so small the technicians did not see them, or they are speculating that the clots were more toward my pelvis area which is outside the range of the doppler and maybe that was blocking flow to my leg.

So sorry to hear about this but glad you are okay.
I also had a deep vein thrombosis several years ago (blood clot in leg.)
I had to get bloodwork from a hematologist and they deduced BC pills were to blame. I was on Yasmin. I have literally never smoked a single cigarette in my life and there was no substantial inactivity beforehand.
I needed four months of coumadin. You will have to get your blood checked frequently. Lots of trips to Labcorp or Quest.
You will be fine.
 Glad to hear you are doing well now.
They say 3-6 months for me and I'll get another catscan of my lungs to see if it cleared up. Meanwhile everytime I cough, sneeze, hiccup or do anything jarring I'm worrying if I dislodged anything and if it's en route to my brain. 
I hope it's only 6 months - I'm so cold, tired and weak. Right now I'm getting blood tests twice a week (better than every day when I was in the hospital last week) but I am hoping next week that will go down to 1x per week since my INR has been consistent for the last 3 checks.

OMG this is crazy! thank god you are ok. 
I've been off bc for a few years now because of migraines. doc said bc + migraines=high risk for stroke. NOT worth it. I think bc is horrible all around.

I was on Yasmin when i was 19 and it made me psychotic, that was a crazy couple of months. They tried numerous BC pills and it had mood, swing, weight gain, weight loss, nothing seem to work.
Then i finally found my father's family and was able to get his family history and passed that along to my OBGYN, who took me off all BC pills immediately. My family history will not allow me to be on BC, even low dose or low hormone BC pills, i am at an extremely high risk for blood clots and stroke, especially since that is exactly what my mother died from.
DH and i use the CBEFM and just don't have sex anytime around when I O to avoid it. I am pregnant now because we planned it. After this baby we will go back to how we were doing it and i will stay BC pill free.
To OP, i am SO glad you are ok and trusted your gut! Blood clots are so scary and dangerous!

omg. i'm glad they caught what was going on.
it's terryifying to know what medicine (that is supposed to help us) does to our bodies.
