My boss is out to get me! Vent
We keep butting heads!! I told her I wanted 16 weeks maternity leave (4 weeks more than "legal" but something that's been done in my office before) and she's been a total b to me ever since!
She keeps trying to "get" me, telling me I'm not doing my work properly, and I keep proving her wrong. She is driving me INSANE!! I dont even know if they're going to approve the 16 weeks and I'm not going to ask her until it's time for me to leave. She can suck it. I asked my coworker if she's been a super b in general, but no, it's just me!!
6 weeks, 2 days until I stop working. And counting!

Just keep in mind...FMLA covers you for 12 weeks. So the 4 weeks after the 12 you are not job protected. (That is, if your company qualifies for FMLA).

Yes, I know that. Which is why I requested it. HR actually told me straight out they're ok with me taking more time and that it's been done before. My boss wasnt happy with HR lol.

Does your boss have any children? If she doesn't, she probably doesn't understand that you'll need extra time. Not that it makes it ok for her to suck so much, but perhaps that explains it a bit.

That sucks she is being that way.
Definitely document everything and if you know the names of the employees who were allowed to take the time make sure you keep those as well. If she does approve the time and then tries anything while you're out during those last four weeks you'll have more of a case for "discrimination"

i am in the same situation, ever since i told my boss i was pregnant he has been a complete a$$hole to me! and i haven't even made my final decision as to whether or not i'm going back to work yet!

Yes, I think that's why she's pissed. Luckily, everything's been documented.

This. Nobody will fire a pregnant lady, but all is fair once your 12 weeks of FMLA are up.
