Re: My DD wearing her Easter dress to a 1st birthday party?

I would definitely if any of my friends or family asked me permission to dress their child a certain way. At my child's birthday party, I am focusing on my own kid- I could really care less how anyone else dressed their kid. I sometimes feel though that I am so laid back, with my kids, and with life in general, that I am weird.
I feel the same. I sometimes wonder if I am dead or alive with how laid back I am. Especially when I read stuff on LIF!!!

My DD wearing her Easter dress to a 1st birthday party?
I'd put the dam dress on my DD and roll my eyes at anyone judging what a baby is wearing.
It seems like you can't do sh!t these days with out a judgement or a comment. I can't even order what I want when invited out to eat. Lol is society really like this or is this just LI/NYC thing?

Re: My DD wearing her Easter dress to a 1st birthday party?
Just want to add I would not ask permission to the parent of the kid throwing a party and I would never roll my eyes at someone else's kid wearing that dress
I said I wouldn't put my dd in it bc I think it is a very fancy dress and I would think the birthday girl would be in someone equally fancy
Jmo,I consider myself very laid back

I think you should dress your DD however you want. I I really doubt anyone would think she is competing with the birthday girl. She's 2!!! She will look adorable in that dress.

Maybe it's me ......but I don't ask permission to dress my children a certain way. It's a party, she's wearing a party dress. I don't think it's 'too much' at all - who cares if it's 'her' party? It's not like showing up to someone's wedding wearing a wedding gown yourself !
Personally, I'm insulted when people show up to a party w/ their kids inappropriately dressed n shorts and a tshirt. But that's me - we are always over dressed.
ITA.
I ALWAYS put my DD in adorable, fancy dresses for special occasions and never thought twice about it. When else I would I get to have her wear all those cute outfits if we weren't invited to parties??

I don't see an issue with having her wear the dress. My daughters would be in heaven with that dress and would want to wear it everyday.

ITA. I think that dress is literally for a flower girl or a very fancy wedding, but judging by the other responses, I guess I'm wrong. To me it's not about asking permission or judging a baby's clothing, just dressing right for the occasion.

Re: My DD wearing her Easter dress to a 1st birthday party?
Ok thanks for your opinions everyone. I found out its at The Carltun in Eisenhower park. Her dress is not as fancy as the one I posted, it's a bit more simple. I'm actually happy she can wear it more than once :)
