My Diet/Exercise Plan, what do you think?

Ok so my friend has this diet/exercise plan with his coworkers where its like a competition, and I was like geez can you motivate me to do something like that? So he said well we can do the same and he mapped it out for me.

(he's been doing it for 4 weeks and lost 11pounds)

There are long term and short term goals

Long Term Goal 30pounds in 3months

Short term Goal is to get the most points for the week...

how points are racked up

1 pound lost is worth 10 points
1 minute of exercise is worth 1 point

tally the points at the end of the week and the winner gets their choosing of drinks or lunch being bought by the losers, winners choosing.

So I was ok sounds interesting sign me up! He of course thinks he can beat me because he gets second place every week only cuz the first place winner at his job exercises for 2-3hrs a day.

Well how i am going to strive to accomplish my goals are as follows:

Diet- consume no more than 1800 calories in a day...each meal can not be more than 600 calories and I get 1 snack a day between lunch and dinner.

Exercise- Gym 3-4x a week, for 2 hrs a day, 1 hr of cardio (bike, treadmill, eliptical) 1 hr of weight machines (6 machines 3 reps of each machine, which will focus on upper body, torso and legs) Also might jog outside for 20 mins on nice days.

I did this in summer of 2006 and I had lost 35 pounds in 3 months, I wish I had contunied but school/work and no free summer time got in the way.

I believe I can do it again, and lose the weight I want to.

But what do you think of this plan and of the competition itself?

It sounds like a good approach to me. I know that competition always drives me. We just had our own "Biggest Loser" competition at work. It was for 10 weeks. There were 20 of us, who weighed in weekly for the 10 weeks & we each kicked in $25. The person who lost the most percentage of body weight won the cash. I came in 4th overall...2nd in the women but it was a lot of fun and great incentive. Oh yeah, so I lost 12.2% percent in the 10 weeks, equaling a bit over 20 lbs.

You can do it!!

I think that is a GREAT exercise plan! When you involve competition and prizes it makes you more eager to want to lose the weight. If you have done it before then you can do it again. Just follow the routine you have and you will pull through. Good Luck Chat Icon
