My dog is having trouble breathing-- Please help...
My 7 year old mixed breed dog is having labored breathing, she is not eating, and she is very lethargic and listless. This all started yesterday morning, following a panic attack that she had over the weather and she ripped apart the carpeting on the basement stairs. My parents took her to the vet last night, who had difficulty examining her b/c she was again, panicking, so he couldn't really tell what was wrong. He just thought she had a sore throat, but she is not breathing well at all. She keeps lifting her head, like she can't get enough air, and she shaking and breathing heavily. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with her? We are going to take her back to the vet, but I just want to go there with some idea of what is wrong to bring up a few options to the vet. I am so scared for her...

Re: My dog is having trouble breathing-- Please help...
I hate to tell this story but my moms cat was having trouble breathing (his chest was going in and out deeply when he tried to breathe). She took him and it turned out he has fluid around his heart...not a good outcome
I hope everything is okay

I'm so sorry to hear this, I hope the vet can find the answers you're looking for.

Make sure your dog's heart is checked. It sounds like that and/or fluid in the lungs. Your dog sounds like it needs a chest x-ray. I went through all of this.
