My dog is missing, please help - UPDATE
I am freaking out right now....my shih tzu is missing. I came home from work today and my back screen had a rip in it and i assume he saw a bird or something and jumped through and escaped. I came home from work and he wasn't here....scoured the neighborhood....what can i do?? I have my dad out now printing up my flyer, i posted on craigslist, what else can i try?? I'm besides myself right now. 
ETA: In Seaford, behind Cedar Creek Park...
Getting more and more upset, posted on craigslist and people just seem to want to mess w/ me...
petfinder, i will do asap...but shelters, to be honest, if i found dog i wouldn't go far, so i will start w/ ones closest.thanks for your help...as pet owners, i know you understand my chaos right now, but for people on craigslist ....ugh....not nice. :(
I have had my baby for 9 years, he is a mommas boy, he "spoons" me...its killing me b/c i yelled at him today, my alarm went off...and i hit snooze, and him being the good dog that he is..growled at me to get my azz up and i wouldn't so i hit snooze again and again, he growled at me and tried to kiss me til i got up, which i did, and now this.........i'm just so not ok....
Thanks everyone!!! I got him!! First shelter I called had him!! Someone picked him up on my street actually. When i called i was hysterical and when they verified it was him I said great, tell him I'm coming to kill him! lol. Never so happy in my life. He is sleeping like a champ now, but I'm still crying, but happy tears now.. Thanks again everyone! I would never have thought to call shelters, I thought craigslist would be better. To be honest, a girl on craigslist helps find dogs and she has contacts at the shelters and called for me and when i was standing in shelter, she emailed me that she knew where he was, that was very sweet as well.

What town are you in. Maybe post the info on here also incase someone see's him.
And it's probably too late now...but call your town shelter in the morning and see if he was picked up.
I hope he's home soon.

OMG i am so sorry. Try petfinder.com. I wish I could help. Where are you located? I am out east. Please let me know if i can help.
I should add that petfinder has a section for lost pets and found pets.

call the shelters and police stations to just give them you information. Sometimes people will call the police station if they are not sure what to do with an animal.

All of the above is great advice. Can you post flyers with a picture at stop signs and stop lights?
In addition to calling the closest shelters, I would go look too just in case. I'm sorry he's lost!! Please update us.

Sorry, I would put posters in the local stores and supermarkets. Also contact every shelter in the area. You can also run an ad in Newsday for free.

call and fax in flyers to vets offices
I hope you find your dog really soon
if you offer a reward people would be more inclined to give back dogs

So happy you found him! I've found many dogs and I always bring them to the shelters if they have no tags.

Thank god you found your baby! I am so happy for you! I have two shih tzus and I don't know what I would do if I ever lost one of them! Any dog lost is never good. Thankfully you were reconnected!!!
