My dog is scratching himself
For about a month my dog has been scratching himself untill he bleeds. It's gotten so bad we've had to collar him but he has figured out how to take it off.
We came home today and there was blood everywhere (sorry if TMI). He scratched the side of his face raw! What could be causing this??

It could be allergies. I would take him to the vet ASAP. There are other things that can cause itching but according to my vet allergies are the most common.

My dog scratched himself till he bled too. He has a lot of allergies. We also found besides being allergic he was also scratching due to anxiety. Good luck!

It's also flea season. Could be allergic to flea bites.

aww poor pup, please take him to the vet. he must be miserable and if it is an allergy, simply changing his food can help him feel better.
Maybe it's scabies? They can make dogs very, very itchy. Completely curable though so get him checked out. good luck!

Could be a variety of things. Do you have him on a flea preventative? This season its really horrible for fleas! Could be allergies also. Have you changed anything in his diet?

poor dog i hope he's feeling better; but like others said-take him to a vet.
My dog has biting at his leg and tail. We took him to the vet and they thought it was an allergy to something. Put him on antibiotics and an antihistamine. And he's all better now.

Where is he scratching? My dog was scratching his ears so badly that he cut himself open. I took him to the vet and he had an ear infection so we had to give him drops and clean his ears really well everyday. He hates having his ears cleaned after some idiotic vet traumatized him.  It was quite an ordeal, but he dealt with it and he's much better now. Definitely get him checked out ASAP!
