My favorite items so far
DS is now 5 weeks old and I thought I would let you ladies know the items that have worked well for us so far. Every baby is definitely different but hopefully some of these items work for you too. Good luck.
Sleeping: Fisher Price Rock n Play sleeper-only thing DS will sleep in during the night. We have the Pack N' Play with bassinet and DS will not sleep in this. He likes the incline of the Rock and Play much better
Open footed gowns with mitts- DS lived in these the first few weeks. Nice b/c they fit all sized babies and have attached mitts so no scratching. The open legs is key to late night diaper changes
Zipper sleepers-once DS was 3 weeks old we moved away from the gowns to the zipper sleeprs. We love the ones where the zipper goes all the way down on one foot, its much easier to change him this way. We found great light weight ones at Target.
Swaddle Me-once DS got too big for a receiving blanket this became a critical sleeping tool. Keeps him from startling himself up at night.
Activity: Fisher-Price Rainforest Bouncer-DH and I can actually eat dinner when he is in this. DS loves to listen to the music and will kick for at least 20 minutes. We keep this in the living room/ dining room during the day.
Tiny Love super deluxe lights and music play Mat- DS loves to look at the animals and in the mirror. He just starting really liking this around 4 weeks.
Newborn to Toddler Rocker-we just started using this. DS is really hard to keep asleep once I put him down. He seems to like sleeping in this item for naps. We keep it in the living room so I don't have to carry him all the way upstairs for a nap.
We spent a lot of money on the Zen plug in swing and DS does not like it right now. I guess every child is different
Breast Feeding:
Breast Feeding Cover-Hooter Hider-I swear I must nurse DS in the car everytime we go out. I love the material on this cover and its nice and big.
Lansinoh Disposable Pads- absorbs a lot and prevents leaking well
Bravado Nursing Bras only ones that fit me
my breast friend- i keep this in living room Boppy- I keep this in my room DS will also tolerate tummy time, well for a few minute on the boppy
Best Chair Recliner- DH is really tall we tried out a lot of recliners and gliders and this worked best. DH and I love to sit in this chair!
Gerber 6 ply cloth diapers-prefold we love these burp cloths can't have enough
Stroller- City Mini-we love this stroller easy to unfold and fold and very light weight. We got the attachment for the car seat and its worked wonders. We skipped the snap n' go
Car Seat Graco Snugride-light and comfortable
Carrier Ergo with infant insert- MIL met someone who works for this company so she bought us one. It has been a lifesaver! Definitely one of our top items. DS falls right to sleep in this. We walk the dog ever ynight and its very comfortable. I use it when DS is fussy and I need to have my hands free.
Bathing- First years newborn to toddler tub-comes with a sling and works perfectly. DS loves the tub and I am no longer nervous to bathe him!
Make sure to buy a lot of washcloths we use at least two each time we bathe DS.
Diapering- We love pampers swaddlers sensitives. The dry max in the regular swaddles seems to stick to DS's hiney.
Sara Bear Portable Diaper Caddy-keeps changing table nice and organized
We keep an extra changing pad in our living room and throw it on our ottoman/ floor . It works well for us and I don't have to trek upstairs every time DS pees or poops. **Don't forget to buy a bunch of changing pad covers for accidents
Good luck to all you soon to be mommies.

Re: My favorite items so far
My dd is three weeks old and I wanted to add one of the best things I've found are sleep sacks. Who ever invented them are genius.
