my friend gave birth to BIG baby
a 11 lb 2 ounce  i think thats the biggest i have known someone personally to have. My cousin was 11lbs even. oh and my friend had a vaginal birth too. My DS was 7 lb and i tore/got cut and had an episiotomy. I cant even imagine what a baby that big would have done to me

Huge! But I can top it. My nephew was 11 lbs., 14 oz and 24 inches long. And she had a vbirth too...and my SIL is only 5 feet 2 inches, 120 lbs. My BIL said that when he was walking down the hall in the hospital people were whispering around him "there's the father of the big baby"
That's why I'm always surprised when people say and 8 lb baby is big. Congrats to your friend.

I have a friend who gave birth to a baby brontosaurus.  . It was a C-section, though. Her name is Kelly.

Yes
DD 6 lbs, 6 oz born in 6 pushes
DS 5 lbs, 2 oz born in 3 pushes
11 minutes total 
The "Big Guy Upstairs" went very easy on me
But I pushed all of that weight out in two parts I can't imagine one huge baby

Yep. He was 11 pounds 8 ounces. THANK GOD HE WAS EARLY!!! But I didn't get the chance to push because I had complications that already had me ready for a c-section.
I have to ask, because everybody assumed I had GD (but I didn't), did your friend have gestational diabetes? I always want to know about other big baby mamas. Good for her getting that baby out!!!!

We heard that the entire time in the hospital too. We'd look in the nursery and we'd hear people say to others 'Did you hear about the 11 1/2 pound baby?' We'd just blush and walk away.

I have a nephew who was 11.13 and his sister(born 4/1) was 11.11.
both came early...no diabetes.
They make my 9.7 baby look like a premie

no she didnt have GD, but her 1st child was 9lbs, so she figured this one would be big too. She also gained around 60 pounds with both babies. She was just telling me today that maybe its all the junk form the holidays that made the baby so big i told her, i dont think so
and also to you have having a big baby too! i forgot that you had a baby that was almost 12 lbs! Did the doctors estimate that he was going to be that big?

9.7 is also a nice sized baby ! It's so funny, besides this friend, everyone else I know personally/friends with had 7 or 8 lbs babies, its cool to come on this board and here from so many other people who had totally different experiences, etc

And the doctors knew around week 30 that something was different with him.

what size was he in? I bought her gifts and now i am thinking i am going to have to get a bigger size. I an guessing shes prob already in 0-3 and i got her some summer stuff, figuring her will prob be in size 3-6 by then, right?
